Interesting read. What I see is, when focussing on the programming aspect, while studying “Informatik” in a university in Germany produced programmers, learning “Mediengestalter Digital &amp; Print” in an apprenticeship in Germany produced exactly this kind of programmers: Strategists, Conceptionists, Orchestrators.
It is interesting to see how people who learned it in an apprenticeship got underpaid for doing more work over the last decades, are now the ones that learned exactly the skills needed in the times of AI assisted programming.
I do not enjoy this studying vs. apprenticeship bash a lot of germans like to do. What I always prefered is and will be, to tell people of all camps, to have an open perspective for other people’s background. If we respect each other, we can learn from each other better. And now it’s the time to shine for all those who learned programming in an apprenticeship.
