The Myth of the T-Shaped Developer

As a generalist, you're competent enough to wade through issues all over a technology stack, work with a wide variety of projects, and help out where needed. Most developers will become T-Shaped by the time they hit senior developer, but I do not feel that this is an end-state for most developers.
