Linux 7.1 Git is approaching 40 million total lines of code despite notable removals this merge window, including ISDN/ham radio network drivers (138k lines), obsolete PCMCIA drivers, old PCI drivers, Baikal CPU support, and the beginning of Intel 486 decommissioning. The net result is still a ~259k line increase over Linux 7.0, bringing the tree to 39.88 million lines with 30 million lines of detected code. The AMD GPU driver stack (AMDGPU/AMDKFD) also grew from 6.05 million to 6.16 million lines in Linux 7.1.
