TUXEDO Computers has cancelled its ARM-based Linux notebook project after 18 months of development due to critical technical limitations with Qualcomm's Snapdragon X Elite SoC. The device suffered from missing KVM virtualization support, non-functional USB4 high-speed transfers, poor battery life compared to Windows, lack of fan control, and limited video hardware decoding support in Linux applications. The company may revisit the project if the upcoming Snapdragon X2 Elite (launching in early 2026) addresses these issues, and will contribute their device tree work to the mainline Linux kernel.
