Given the current political vitriol, and the fact that there has been actual violence perpetrated that, by nearly all accounts is directly related to that vitriol, it seems relatively obvious that something like this may need to occur until the fervor dies down and the vitriol subsides. From what I just read, it seemed to imply that people were either upvoting or downvoting his stuff simply because it was his. While that might not be a direct violation of the rules on there, it certainly isn’t keeping with the spirit of them. While he’s innocent until proven guilty, that hasn’t stopped those that want to hold him up as a prophet or declare him an enemy of the state to do so. To that end, it seems like they felt they needed to do something to prevent their site from being used as a sounding board for those with those agendas to sound off on things that do not relate to the content.

The worst part is that he likely isn’t guilty. They are each day proving they’re trying to do a mistrial because they want to make a scapegoat.
