The current AI market appears to be in a massive bubble, with trillions in valuations that cannot be justified by future profits. While legitimate use cases for machine learning exist, they're overshadowed by overhyped and overpriced AI products. Hardware capabilities are slowing down just as model training demands increase, creating a concerning disconnect between investment and practical value.

I do agree with the fact that there is an AI bubble. If I do understand your point Jeff. Investing money into AI and having no ROI is a clear sign of a bubble. Eventually it will pop.
We should still consider the fact that there are many situations in the day-to-day life, where AI can be useful and can significantly improve our lives. I have noticed huge improvements in vocal recognition since the introduction of LLMs.
This means, for companies, that they can remove the middleman and have the client directly with the back-end. I can think of almost all customer-service jobs where this “logic” can be applied.
It will be a disaster from an economic point of view because of all the job losses in the service industry, however, from the point of view those companies, they will be saving a lot of money on service representatives. This means that there will be interest in it and there will be an ROI.
This is not the case in every situation and it does not work everywhere, but it is something to consider.

The AI slop stream is feeding so well into the enshittification and enslopication of everything. Quantity &gt; Quality … more == better … just. consume. product. … MMMOOAAAARRRRR!
