NestJs is the worst alternative you could have chosen. His design is entirely different from Django. It doesn’t even cover all the features provided by Django: HTML template and ORM, it works by injecting dependencies.
A lot of thing remains In the hand of the developer to do: content validation with DTO for example, Django does most of the work under the hood in order to let the dev write mainly the business logic he wants, it’s not the case in Nest. Even the permission system is not as advanced, most of the time you have to write a lot with NestJS.
I am a Django dev with +4 years of experience in Django and i used NestJS for the latest 6 months now I would say I hate it, I better use something like AdonisJS.
Even though the routing system is different, Django has one place where you do most of the common stuff (URLs, settings, etc) it’s not the case for NestJS, Route are dispatched across the app’s controllers.
Anyway, it’s NOT a NestJs alternative to Django, maybe it’s for some framework in the Java world but not Django.
