Montagna Verde, a remote agritourism estate in the Tuscan Apennines with no cellular coverage, deployed Cisco Ultra-Reliable Wireless Backhaul (URWB) to solve its connectivity problem. A 15 km radio bridge from a nearby mountain summit feeds a point-to-multipoint network serving 21 Wi-Fi access points across the historic property. Cisco Industrial Ethernet switches with PoE power the system without invasive wiring on protected structures. The result enables tablet-based ordering, HD security cameras, and guest connectivity, while supporting 28 local jobs and helping combat rural depopulation.
