Anyone else see this advertised everywhere?
As someone who is just recently learning to code, I kept getting hit with ads for “Brilliant” so I finally gave it a shot…
…And yeah it is totally overrated in my opinion.
I’m sorry but if you want to learn computer science I didn’t find it very helpful to spend one hour playing little games. Maybe this would have been good when I was a kid, but now that I’ve started the Odin Project I’m like this is pointless.
Anyway, not sure if anyone has a different opinion, but so far my advice would be if you want to learn how to code, start coding!

The "Brilliant" App isn't Good to Learn Programming

By chance if someone were to feel completely different about Brilliant, I’m still glad warning signs like these still exist on daily.dev
I was beginning to wonder why Brilliant has been pushed as much as your common VPN. I never did it, but I hear nothing of good things about The Odin Project.
When I began programming, unfortunately I started with FCC, which is no comparison.

I knew this day would come, but I didn’t expect it so soon! This is just another unusual method to learn programming. Personally, I believe that building products is the best way to learn a new programming language, although it can be time-consuming.

I liked the math refreshers in the app. But it probably isn’t the right place to learn to code.

I tried Brilliant to learn the basics of computer science too, but for me the problem was commitment.
After literally one day I just got tired of the platform. I was pretty good a computer science and the very basics of programming, but I wanted to see if this would help people who are just starting out.
If you really want to try Brilliant, keep in mind the commitment and it will take you at least a month to complete the course.

I use the site often. In my opinion it is not what you should to use to learn to program but it is good for the computer science and maths side of programming.
