The BrickBoy kit allows Lego's Game Boy replica to play actual games through emulation. Unlike Natalie the Nerd's custom circuit board approach using original chips, BrickBoy uses a self-contained module that slots into the cartridge slot and runs ROM files. Installation takes about five minutes and includes adding an LCD screen, magnetic sensors for buttons, and a battery module. Three versions will launch on Kickstarter October 28th: Essential Kit (grayscale Game Boy games), Gamer Kit (adds Game Boy Color/Advance support, Bluetooth, rechargeable battery), and Collector's Edition (permanent power for display demos).
