The Bitter Prediction

I actually think ai coding is going to die. Its made me a worse developer and I am using it less now due to that. If we rely to much on it its more detrimental, I think maybe for starting projects and code snippets its okay, but its crappy code and not understanding what is going on always is such a bad thing. Rely on it too much and a year from now you are going to have a bad time. Just to add to it I love AI as a technology and I am quite into the creating agents, but after using it for quite a while I can look back and say where it works for me.

Writing code is the fun part, when you look back and see what you’ve accomplished, the feeling it gives is quite nice. When AI does everything then what’s the point of coding, may as well become a businessman.

ppl used to enjoy being blacksmiths and textile artisans before the industrial revolution, but their jobs got eaten.
also note that we still have these ppl but their roles are modified by the usage of industrial machinery and tech.
the same is happening with us, we should just accept it at this point and move forward. try to use this as a opportunity rather than be afraid from it.

There will be long term impact of shifting cognitive load to an agent Idk about the increase of intelligence of the models but before that happens dependance will increase that It takes a lot to avoid using the tool to do basic task

I like the post. I have similar feelings about it. I also like the story about the game - I also played it when I way younger.
I used Cursor for some while now and did tasks I could not tackle without it. But it also adds so much informations and explanations about it - tl;dr
And I think that is the main problem. No one will have the patience anymore to explore everything in such details as before because it will be some kind of time wasting…
