Good pattern, and if you have a ‘base’ to work from previous experience / classroom learning then it’s good advice, when you’re brand new, with no base to work from starting from absolute zero… Then no. This is NOT how I would advise you to proceed. It is way to easy to run off in a random and direction that is of little use, expends energy and generates frustration. I have been reading the notes from one student that is self teaching on Threads… They started with git and development containers. Both are good concepts to learn and have a place, but it is NOT step 0. I remain convinced that the ONLY place to start into this career, if you want to be long-term relevant is in school NOT a bootcamp, school. You don’t need a 4 year degree but a two year Community College diploma will set you up nicely.

Agree, Project based learning is an effective way of self learning. Try to solve small problem with something i want to learn (like javascript) as a project. Tutorials are references, following it strictly is less effective as you will end up copy-pasting without enough understanding of the concept.
Follow tutorials with some adjustment to a specific needs, or use different version of the framework. That’s my way of self learning.
