Apify is running a $1M developer challenge until January 31, 2026, rewarding developers who build and publish automation tools, web scrapers, MCP servers, and AI agent tools on their platform. Participants can earn up to $2,000 per Actor (tool) based on monthly active users, compete for weekly $2,000 spotlight prizes, and vie for a grand prize. Actors must meet technical quality criteria including README documentation, input/output schemas, and a minimum quality score of 65. The platform already has 10,000+ Actors and paid out $563k to community developers in September 2025 alone. Developers can earn both challenge prizes and ongoing passive income from users who run their published Actors.
