Production AI agents today suffer from a 'stack ceiling' — fragile session logic, shared credentials, siloed context, and no durable execution. Four architectural bets are proposed for teams building serious agentic systems: (1) agents need platform-level identities instead of borrowed credentials for real governance; (2) agents need universal, cross-system context rather than siloed scraped windows; (3) agents need durable, cloud-native execution that survives restarts, credential rotations, and multi-week missions; (4) teams should build on open, managed agent platforms rather than reinventing orchestration, memory, and observability plumbing. The core argument is that engineering hours should go toward domain-specific business logic, not undifferentiated infrastructure.
