<p>Tencent has acquired a majority stake of 51.4% in Chinese game developer Kuro Games, making it the only external shareholder. Despite this acquisition, Kuro Games will continue to operate independently. Tencent began investing in Kuro Games in 2023, and the developer’s latest game, Wuthering Waves, was released in May 2024. This move is in line with Tencent’s strategy to invest in various major game companies, which already includes stakes in Epic Games, Remedy Entertainment, and Riot Games.</p>
