CLion 2026.1 EAP introduces several notable improvements. Debugging now supports TCP connections with DAP debuggers in addition to stdin/stdout, with Launch and Attach modes. Variables can be viewed in decimal, hex, octal, or binary formats. Remote debugging is faster thanks to a reworked architecture. Natvis performance with MSVC toolchain improved by over 80x with 2.5x less memory usage. Bundled LLDB updated to 21.1.7. Build tooling gains support for custom project models (including VS Code c_cpp_properties.json), full code insight for CMake ExternalProject_Add() dependencies, and CMake preset display names. The CLion Nova installer is 1 GB smaller. Unit testing for Meson projects now supports all four major frameworks, and code folding reaches parity with CLion Classic.
