Tansu is an open source, Kafka-compatible message broker written in Rust. It is stateless and leaderless, supports scaling to zero, and uses only ~20MB RAM with ~10ms startup time. Storage is pluggable with support for S3, SQLite, and PostgreSQL. Additional features include broker-side schema validation and direct writes to Apache Iceberg and Delta Lake formats.
