Tails 7.7.2 is an emergency release addressing a critical Linux kernel security vulnerability called 'Copy Fail'. The flaw could allow an application running inside Tails to gain administration privileges, potentially enabling an attacker to take full control of the system and deanonymize the user. The Linux kernel has been updated to version 6.12.85 to patch this issue. Automatic upgrades are available from Tails 7.0 or later, and manual upgrade instructions are provided for cases where automatic upgrades fail.
