Tabnine has launched the Enterprise Context Engine (ECE), a platform layer designed to give AI coding agents structured organizational context. Unlike RAG, which relies on similarity-based retrieval, the ECE continuously builds an evolving model of a company's software systems, service dependencies, architectural boundaries, and engineering practices. This allows AI agents to reason about system structure rather than guess. The platform supports cloud, private cloud, on-premises, and air-gapped deployments, targeting regulated enterprises. Tabnine positions organizational context as a foundational infrastructure layer for enterprise AI, comparable to how databases or virtualization transformed earlier computing eras.
