SUSE Rancher and Vultr want to break AI infrastructure free from the hyperscalers

SUSE Rancher Prime and SUSE AI are now available on the Vultr Marketplace, offering enterprises an alternative to hyperscalers for running AI inference workloads on Kubernetes. Vultr provides GPU instances (B200, H100, MI300X) across 32 global regions at lower costs, while SUSE Rancher handles cluster management and SUSE AI covers inference and training. The partnership targets platform engineering teams seeking to avoid vendor lock-in and high cloud costs, while meeting enterprise compliance, data sovereignty, and security requirements. Vultr's CMO also warns against 'neo-cloud' startups that offer raw GPU power but lack the enterprise-grade compliance and security infrastructure that CISOs and SecOps teams require.
