GitHub is sunsetting Atom and will archive all projects under the organization on December 15, 2022. Atom has not had significant feature development for the past several years. GitHub will continue to inform Atom users of the sunset in the product and on atom.io.

It was my first real customizable editor and I enjoyed every part of developing with it until I moved to VSCode.
Atom will always have a piece in my heart, in fact the Atom’s one dark theme is still my favourite one, even with VSCode.
A bit sad to see the sun slowly fading on it, but totally understandable choice of focusing on VSCode

Heartbreaking news for the editor which I extensively used over 2017-2020.

Wow. I genuinely did not expect this to happen. I never used Atom, but it’s such a shame they’re sunsetting it.
