Style queries let you query the style of any parent element within a page and apply styles to its children based on the styles of its parent. Style queries are not landing in the initial implementations of container queries in Chromium and Webkit. Both browser engines currently plan to ship with size query and container query unit support 1 .

4. Grouping styles with higher-order variables

I’m excited for this! As a front-end developer, I’m always looking for ways to make my code more maintainable and scalable. Container queries will definitely help with that.

A lot of exciting things coming to CSS, container queries being my favorite among the bunch. I still have to figure out where style queries will be the most useful, but the feature seems promising!
