It’s like an IDE? huh? but for wordpress huh?

It’s better compared to Local by flywheel. Specially you can share the local site directly online from your computer! And faster too!

I was using local by flywheel for ease but it gave me very long wait time when working on windows. Will give this a try!

Better dev experience sounds like a good choice for the platform.
Does this mean that the code base improved in the recent past? My only reference is from four years back and at that point I was equally impressed with how good it was for end users compared to how bad is was for developers. Wishing the best for the platform and the devs putting in work for it.
