Shopify is enforcing stricter Liquid parsing requirements for all themes starting January 13, 2026. Themes with non-compliant code will be automatically rewritten with comments explaining changes, preserving functionality while fixing syntax issues. New theme and app submissions already require strict-parsable Liquid code. The change aims to improve code quality, prevent syntax errors, and enable future Liquid enhancements.
