I have used React for a long time. Trust me when I tell you: There is no reason to use it and a lot of reasons against it. This is going to be a long explanation, but bear with me!

Stop Using and Recommending React

I don’t see any of those as a reason to not choose React but more as something you have to keep in mind when using it, every techno has its downside.
And more important, the ecosystem is React’s bigest strength, absolutely not an issue. “Having too much options” is an issue if you are new to the ecosystem, but still, you can just choose the most popular ones to start with and be better at choosing when you have more experience.

This article sounds like written by someone frustrated from a lack of understanding. The word “magic” appears a bit to often in a context about how React does certain stuff. I feel the same, too often. But that is my fault. Not React’s.
Then, criticism about an unpolished feature of a beta version is rather addressed at the devs, than lamenting about it in some blog post.
Chosing other libraries over React because of a better grasp of their mental model or even just out of pure sympathy is perfectly fine from my p.o.v. No need to write an article about one’s private feud.

It is the best for most but do not forget Anglular for Enterprise, Vue for smaller projects and Svelte for optimum performance.

Personally I never liked React, then it became another evangelization thing and I didn’t like it even more. Nowadays there’s so much other options thankfully, including just knowing JS ecosystem more than React’s one.

I find this a fairly poorly written, naive piece - regardless of how much of an “expert” we’re supposed to believe this author is.
