Focus styles and indicators are bad for accessibility. Users with visual issues will not see where they are on a Web page when using the keyboard as a means of navigating. Visual indicators help people with executive dysfunction and other visual or processing related issues (light sensitivity, migraines, etc.)

Stop Removing Focus

Unless you have a very good reason to disable browser defaults, you almost definitely shouldn’t.
You should always think about why something is the way it is, and look into working around that default instead of surplanting it entirely.
This is particularly important with HTML: Do not add a click-listener on a div; Use a button.
