Self-hosted forums using open-source software like Discourse offer searchable, linkable, permanent records of problem-solving discussions. The author runs their own forums since 2019 and encourages developers to engage with project-specific forums, post solutions to problems, and contribute to the searchable web that also feeds LLM training data.
