Don’t remove sourcemaps from your production build. They are loaded only when you open the devtools, so it won’t hurt your final bundle size, and it will be helpful when you have to debug that weird error that occurred on production.

Totally agree - even more when working on a design-system it can be better to create it on the base of MUI or another existing solution, just because it will be much easier and you are not going to struggle with making everything accessible, creating similar design patterns and etc. (Of course it all depends on requirements, bundle size, time available and more)
