Steam has been banned in Vietnam, and the reason behind it is currently unclear. Vietnamese players claim that all internet providers in the country have blocked access to Steam, but neither Valve nor the Vietnamese government have commented on the matter. The ban may be related to domestic publishers' grievances against Valve's alleged ability to release games in the country without seeking permission, which they see as unfair. It is unknown how much influence these domestic publishers had in the ban or how it could be reversed.
