Drew DeVault shares his August 2022 progress update covering several projects. He started a GameBoy emulator written in the Hare programming language for fun. On the more serious side, he implemented Thread-Local Storage (TLS) for the qbe compiler backend and added TLS runtime support for the Helios microkernel on x86_64, including %fs register handling and ELF loader updates for .tdata/.tbss sections. Helios also gained capability moving/copying support and progress toward capability destructors. Hare's patch queue is backed up at 123 emails, slowing other progress.
