As someone who used to be and active member of the ES-SO community answering questions before the widespread of LLM answers, In one hand It really feels like my contributions have been relegated to just training data for AI for the benefit of Stack Overflow. But in other hand I completely understand that the hostility in other Stack Exchange sites and specially in Stack Overflow could deter a lot of new users to join the community making them look for other ways to get their questions aswered. Overall, I don’t think this is a step in the right direction, but a part of me really wants me to be wrong and this helps Stack Overflow to regain their reputation as a helpful site.
