AMD has submitted a patch series adding SR-IOV Virtual Function support to the AMDXDNA accelerator driver for the upcoming AIE4 NPU platform (Ryzen AI). This marks the first SR-IOV support in the AMDXDNA driver, enabling guest virtual machines to access the NPU for AI workloads. The patches are expected to land in Linux 7.2. Some community members would prefer SR-IOV support for consumer Radeon GPUs instead.
