sr.ht (pronounced 'sir hat') is now open to the public for its alpha period. It's a fully open source software forge offering git hosting, CI (builds.sr.ht), bug tracking, mailing lists, and wikis. Unlike GitHub or GitLab, sr.ht is 100% copyleft open source, extremely lightweight (pages under 10 KiB, no JavaScript, no tracking), and embraces email-based patch workflows used by major projects like Linux and PostgreSQL. Its CI platform, builds.sr.ht, supports a wide range of architectures and OS images including BSD and Hurd, and is already used by Linux distributions and projects like sway and postmarketOS.
