<h2>Squads just got a major update, let’s dive right in:</h2>
💜 In case you’re new here, a sentence about ⭐Squads⭐
Squads are a place where you can interact with like-minded developers on daily.dev. Open a Squad to share knowledge on PHP or to rant about Rust. Squads can be Private and invite-only for a group of friends or colleagues or they can be Public, which means they’re just like a source on daily.dev and users throughout the platform will be exposed to them and can join if they want to dive deeper into the conversation.

<h3>Stats and moderator visibility</h3>
We’ve made it clearer than ever just how great your Squad is.

Besides name and description, you can now see whether the Squad is Public, Private or featured (in the <a href="https://app.daily.dev/squads" target="_blank" rel="noopener nofollow">Squads directory</a>). You can also see how many posts have been made, how many views there are, and how many upvotes. 💪
We’re also showcasing admins and moderators so that it’s easier to see who’s leading the Squad.

<h3>Want to start a Public or Private Squad of your own?</h3>
To get started, click on +New Squad on the sidebar.
In the setup page, you’ll be asked to give your Squad a name and to decide whether anyone can post/invite others to the Squad.

Now, it’s time to start posting and inviting people to join your Squad. You’ll need at least 5 posts to be able to go Public. You’ll notice a card in your Squad walking you through what you need to do to be considered as a Public Squad. Adding an image and a good description are key if you want to make it clear what your Squad is about.
Once you reach five posts, you can apply to become a Public Squad directly from a card open on your Squad or from “Squad Settings.” Five posts is the minimum requirement, but it’s not enough. For a Squad to go Public, it needs to have a clear topic that can drive value to developers.
