Spotify has launched physical book sales in the US and UK through an affiliate partnership with Bookshop.org, letting users buy print copies via a button on audiobook pages in the app. Spotify earns a 10% affiliate fee, with a portion supporting independent bookstores. The rollout accompanies several other audiobook features: Page Match (now supporting 30+ languages) lets users scan a physical book page to sync with the audiobook; Audiobook Charts have expanded to Germany; and AI-generated Audiobook Recaps are now live on both platforms. Audiobooks are now engaged with by 25% of Spotify's 290 million Premium subscribers, and the company frames physical book sales as a strategic move to capture the full lifecycle of a reader's relationship with a title rather than ceding that intent to Amazon.
