Daniel Stenberg, creator of curl, is seeking community funding for a new Framework laptop to replace his aging 2017 machine. For the first time, the curl fund will contribute to hardware costs, with a crowdfunding campaign targeting $1,000+ for upgrades. The laptop will be used for curl development, conference talks, and live streaming from curl meetings. Contributors of $200+ can customize laptop stickers, and regular curl sponsors will cover remaining costs if the campaign falls short.
