Splunk Introduces OpenTelemetry eBPF Instrumentation and Kubernetes Operator at KubeCon EU 2026

Splunk announced new observability capabilities at KubeCon + CloudNativeCon Europe 2026. Key highlights include the beta launch of OpenTelemetry eBPF Instrumentation (OBI), a zero-code solution that captures telemetry from the Linux kernel to generate distributed traces and RED metrics without code changes or restarts. The Splunk Operator for Kubernetes reached general availability, offering Kubernetes-native deployment and management of Splunk Enterprise with autoscaling support. Splunk also introduced beta support for native log ingestion via OpenTelemetry Protocol, consolidating traces, metrics, and logs into a single collector agent, and enhanced Kubernetes monitoring with faster root cause analysis and YAML manifest visibility.
