UK co-development studio Splash Damage has acquired Croatian studio Gamepires — developer of open-world survival game Scum — from Jagex for an undisclosed fee. The deal, backed by investment firm Emona Capital, merges the two studios into a new entity called Splash Damage Group, led by CEO Ben Hopkinson. The group plans to expand premium development and co-development partnerships, scale the Scum franchise, and invest in new IP. The acquisition follows Splash Damage's recent separation from former parent company Tencent.
