Stadio, a private higher education group in South Africa, has launched the country's first education-focused MVNO called Stadio Connect. The service runs on MTN's network infrastructure and provides students and staff with free SIM cards preloaded with non-expiry data, airtime, and SMS. The initiative aims to reduce connectivity costs for students who struggle with expensive data access for online learning. Stadio plans to implement zero-rating for key educational platforms like Canvas and myStadio, allowing students to access learning materials without using paid data.
