SOND, a Boston-based startup co-founded by Bose's former Head of Sleep Products, has emerged from stealth with $7M in seed funding. The company's debut product, Dreambuds, are AI-powered sleep earbuds that capture 12 physiological signals in real-time — including heart rate variability, respiration, and sleep staging — and use a cloud-based AI sleep coach to select or generate personalized audio sleep programs. The system operates without a phone, with the charging case featuring Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, an OLED display, and a speaker. Users can interact with the AI coach via voice. SOND plans to launch a crowdfunding campaign and begin mass production by Q2 2026.
