Playnix has launched the Playnix Console, a Steam Machine competitor available for purchase now while Valve's own Steam Machine remains delayed due to RAM shortages. The device runs an Arch-based PlaynixOS and packs high-end specs including a Ryzen 5 CPU, AMD RDNA4 Radeon 9060 XT GPU with 16GB GDDR6, 16GB DDR4 RAM, NVMe SSD, WiFi 6E, and HDMI 2.1/DisplayPort 2.1 outputs. The asking price is $1,139, which is notably higher than the anticipated sub-$1,000 Steam Machine, though sales are reportedly strong.
