Excellent article. Code is liability. The less we write, the fewer things can break. Just churning out more lines, more hours will not benefit the business nor yourself.

There is no wishing away 996 without making the founder culture go away. AI can also make it 247, just eat, sleep, and work.

This article described my first experience with AI doing a side project for a problem I had organizing thousands of pdfs and scraped html. So basically another RAG / chatbot project 🤨 where you talk do your docs
But as the article described, things started off fine, but as soon as it became more complex, the AI started losing context. It would refactor, and then refactor the refactor which would then trigger another cycle. There were cases where it wasn’t able to get unstuck and I would then have to go through and figure out the mountain of AI gen code it produced which often wasn’t pretty.
It seems the bloat came from so many iterations of refactoring, it was kind of brute forcing it at times. Where a good initial design that was open to additional features would have required far fewer changes.

While initially thought to be very fast, in reality, it takes much longer to fix bugs than to create the project manually.
