Socket has acquired Secure Annex, an extension security company founded by John Tuckner, who is joining the Socket team. Secure Annex provides browser extension security used by companies like Reddit and Brave. This is Socket's second acquisition in 12 months, following Coana. The move expands Socket's supply chain protection beyond package managers to browser extensions, IDE extensions, MCP servers, and AI tools. Existing Secure Annex customers will see no pricing changes or coverage gaps during migration.
