AI-DLC (AI-Driven Development Lifecycle) is a methodology that reimagines software development by making AI the primary orchestrator rather than just an assistant. Unlike retrofitting AI into existing Agile or SDLC methods, AI-DLC reverses the conversation direction where AI initiates workflows, decomposes tasks, and generates recommendations while humans validate and approve decisions. The framework integrates design techniques like Domain-Driven Design as core components, operates on rapid iteration cycles (hours/days instead of weeks), and progresses through three phases: Inception (collaborative requirements elaboration), Construction (domain modeling to code generation), and Operations (deployment and monitoring). The methodology includes artifacts like Intents, Units, and Bolts, with rituals such as Mob Elaboration and Mob Construction that enable teams to work collaboratively with AI oversight.
