Snap has migrated its A/B testing infrastructure to GPU-accelerated Apache Spark using NVIDIA cuDF on Google Cloud, processing over 10 petabytes of data daily across thousands of experiments for Snapchat's 940 million monthly active users. The migration achieved 4x runtime speedups and 76% daily cost savings compared to CPU-only workflows, while reducing concurrent GPU requirements from a projected 5,500 to just 2,100 by running on Google Kubernetes Engine with NVIDIA L4 GPUs. The transition required no code changes to existing Spark applications, and Snap plans to expand GPU-accelerated pipelines beyond A/B testing to broader production workloads.
