The only thing a digital calendar cannot do well is time-zone-independent (i.e. normal) appointments. If I want to have lunch every day at 12 noon, I have to know, for every day it is planned, where I will be and what time zone it is there, and hence my daily lunch appointment will be all over the place.
People who write calendar programs should be more aware that MOST people have more lunches than teleconferences with people in other time zones.
