Cybercriminal group ShinyHunters leaked data from Crunchbase, SoundCloud, and Betterment, claiming they breached Crunchbase and Betterment through voice-phishing attacks targeting Okta single-sign-on codes. The leaked data includes over 20 million records from Betterment, 2 million from Crunchbase, and 30 million from SoundCloud (affecting about 28 million users). ShinyHunters claims to have compromised additional companies through the same Okta-focused campaign but hasn't disclosed their identities. This follows similar attacks last year where the group stole data from hundreds of Salesforce customers using comparable social engineering tactics.
