Shade, a New York-based startup, has raised $14M led by Khosla Ventures to build a cloud storage platform for creative and marketing teams. Its key differentiators are natural language video search that pinpoints exact timestamps matching a query, auto-tagging, facial recognition, and a streamable filesystem that lets users work with files before they fully download. The platform also supports team collaboration with timestamp-linked comments, branded client delivery portals, and role-based permissions. Shade plans to expand search across file types and launch a no-code workflow automation layer.
