iximiuz Labs has overhauled its playground engine to Playgrounds 2.0, enabling developers to create custom virtual lab environments using microVMs. The platform uses Firecracker microVMs with custom Linux kernels optimized for server-side workloads, supports building VM rootfs images through Docker containers, and allows multi-network playground configurations. Users can create playgrounds with up to 5 VMs using YAML manifests, leverage official VM images or build custom ones, and set up complex networking scenarios for learning and experimentation.
