Securing the Agentic Workforce: Cisco Announces Intent to Acquire Astrix Security

Cisco has announced its intent to acquire Astrix Security, a specialist in Non-Human Identity (NHI) security. The acquisition aims to extend Cisco's Zero Trust architecture to cover AI agents and non-human identities such as API keys, OAuth tokens, and service accounts. Astrix Security's capabilities include discovery and governance for AI agents, agentic access lifecycle management, threat detection and response, and secrets management. Cisco plans to integrate these capabilities into Cisco Identity Intelligence, Cisco Secure Access, and Duo IAM, giving security teams unified visibility across identity, network, application, and infrastructure layers to govern and respond to agent activity at machine speed.
